Origin History
1912
- After the land deed was signed by Teddy Roosevelt, the Bank of Choudrant (Lincoln Parish, LA) opens its doors with a Capitalization of $10,000.
1987
- Bank of Bernice (Union Parish, LA) is acquired and the name is changed to Community Trust Bank.
1991
- Community Trust Bank becomes part of the newly formed Community Trust Financial Corporation holding company.
1998
- Community Trust Bank expands full service banking into Ouachita Parish (LA).
2005
- Community Trust Bank acquires First United Bank (Farmerville, LA), further deepening its dedication to Union Parish (LA).
2008
- Community Trust Bank rings in the New Year by becoming a billion dollar bank.
- Community Trust Financial Corporation opens its first location in Dallas, TX.
2009
- Community Trust Bank continues its commitment to growth and prosperity by acquiring First Louisiana Bank (Shreveport-Bossier City, LA).
- Community Trust Bank continues its expansion to Fort Worth, TX and Plano, TX.
2010
- Community Trust Bank acquires Madison County Financial Corporation, the parent company of Madison County Bank (Madison, MS).
2012
- Community Trust Bank pledges to continue to serve its communities as it celebrates its 100th Anniversary.
- Community Trust Financial Corporation acquires Thomas and Farr Insurance Agency.
2013
- Community Trust Bank enters Houston, TX.
2015
- Community Trust Bank changes its name to Origin Bank.
2018
- Origin Bancorp, Inc., the financial holding company for Origin Bank, goes public on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
- Origin Bancorp, Inc. acquires Reeves, Coon and Funderburg Insurance and Financial Services.
2022
- Origin Bancorp, Inc mergers with BT Holdings, Inc the holding company for BTH Bank N.A. (“BTH Bank”), Quitman, Texas
- Origin Bank continues expansion in East Texas with merger of BTH Bank locations
