Origin Bank Hires Carmen Jordan, Bennett Douglas, Jim Lykes and Robby Martin to Join Houston Lending Team
HOUSTON – Origin Bank has announced that Carmen Jordan, Bennett Douglas, Jim Lykes and Robby Martin have joined the company’s Houston lending team.
Carmen Jordan joins the bank as an Executive Vice President and Regional Group Manager. In her new position at Origin, she is responsible for business development, cultivating new banking relationships and ensuring the highest level of credit quality for all segments, including commercial and industrial, real estate and private banking. She also serves on Origin’s corporate loan committee covering Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
A nationally recognized leader in banking, Jordan was named as one of American Banker Magazine’s Top 50 Women in Banking, an annual ranking based on factors such as profitability, growth, client recommendations, and peer support. She has also received numerous awards for her achievements in diversity, being named one of the Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas by the National Diversity Council and was included in the Top 15 Business Women of Houston by the National Women’s Council.
Jordan is actively engaged with her alma mater, Lamar University in Beaumont, from which she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance. She serves on the advisory board of the College of Business, most recently as chairman, is on the current search committee for a new dean, was the commencement speaker at graduation, and has established a scholarship for incoming freshman. Most recently, she was named to the university’s foundation board. Other non-profit involvement includes serving on the steering committees of the Executive Women’s Partnership and the Fort Bend County Women’s Chamber of Commerce, as a director of the Holocaust Museum Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters, and as a trustee of the Houston City Club.
Bennett Douglas joins the bank as a Regional Executive Vice President and Commercial Group Manager. He has over 35 years of experience in the banking industry, specializing in commercial banking to middle market companies, including business development, working capital financing, equipment and real estate financing. In his position at Origin, his primary focus will be to develop commercial relationships in the Houston Metro area.
Douglas has a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been a committee member for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for over 10 years, and is a committee member for the American Heart Association’s Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards. In addition, he is a past project leader for Rebuilding Together Houston.
Jim Lykes joins the bank as a Regional Executive Vice President and Commercial Relationship Banker with nearly three decades of banking experience. He has spent the last 18 years in private banking specializing in real estate, commercial and industrial lending, and personal credit facilities to high net worth individuals. While continuing his work in these areas, Lykes will also focus on developing new banking relationships and providing current and future clients the expertise to help them achieve their goals across all lines of business.
Lykes has a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas Christian University and a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is on the board of directors for Project 375, a national non-profit established to eradicate the stigma of mental health.
Robby Martin joins Origin as a Regional Executive Vice President and Commercial Group Manager, and has 14 years of banking experience. He specializes in sourcing and evaluating new loan opportunities for all industry segments, including commercial and industrial, real estate and private banking. His particular areas of focus include working capital, growth capital, and mergers and acquisition finance.
Martin is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in finance and general business and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management and leadership skills. He is a member of the BraeBurn Country Club, where he is vice president of the MGA executive committee.
